Deputy Head (L21-25)
Thank you for your interest in the post of Deputy Head at Seven Kings.
I took over the headship of the school in September 2008 (having been a deputy in the school
previously) and I want to continue to build the highest quality leadership team with the potential to
take the school on to further success. The current SLT is a strong, cohesive and mutually supportive
team and the successful candidate will enjoy working with colleagues who provide intellectual
challenge and a real sense of satisfaction and pride in the work they do.
Seven Kings is a lovely school and one of which I am very proud. We have fantastic students who are
keen to learn and a staff who are talented and committed. The ethos of the school is centred on
excellent relationships between students and staff and is about learning and achievement for all. It is
a stimulating place to work because of this and because of our involvement in local and national
projects. The school consistently achieves excellent academic results, accolades for our work on
national agendas and outstanding Ofsted reports. However, as a school we have creative plans for
the future and we are always looking for new ideas and ways to take the school forward; it makes for
an exciting challenge to take on a role as a deputy in a successful school like Seven Kings.
As a deputy you will be involved in leading the school’s learning agenda and ensuring the highest
standards are achieved. At this stage the specific role for this post is open as I would want to review
responsibilities once an appointment is made, but it will involve leadership of a key stage in terms of
curriculum and learning, line management of departments and leadership of whole school initiatives.
The application pack includes a range of information, but if there is further information you would
like or you wish to discuss the post, please do not hesitate to contact me. You can of course
download information about the school from the website and from related sites, such as Ofsted. If
you would like to visit the school please contact my PA, Deborah Evans, who will arrange a time for
you.
The application pack includes the following:
Job Description
Person Specification
Current School Improvement Plan
School Prospectus

We are looking for a deputy with the potential to make a difference. The role will be demanding but

school.
I look forward to receiving your application and meeting you.
Yours sincerely
