宗旨
Goals
通过主办中国语言文化项目，加强中美之间的跨文化 理解，通过面向学生、教师、社区成员的一系列教育和文 化拓展活动来推进上述使命；为在北卡州大和整个北卡地 区推广汉语教学、丰富文化机会、帮助北卡工商界理解并 参与中国市场竞争做出贡献。
The goal of the Confucius Institute is to enhance intercultural understanding in the U.S. by sponsoring programs in Chinese language and culture; promote the mission through a range of educational and outreach activities to students, teachers, businesses, and community members; contribute to the expansion of Chinese language instruction at NC State and in North Carolina schools, enrich cultural opportunities and help North Carolina businesses understand and compete in the Chinese market.

The CI at NCSU provides the following services: Teaching non-credit Chinese language courses; Supporting expanded Chinese language courses offered by the DFLL at NC State; Providing professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers of Chinese; Partnering with local schools to promote Chinese language and culture and develop new Chinese programs; Expanding NC State-Chinese partnership activities; Economic development opportunities for area businesses.

史景迁在英国大布列颠图书馆今年“雷思 讲座”60周年时应邀作“中国巡礼”系列 演讲，他在演讲中提到美国的孔子学院时， 首先列举的就是北卡罗莱纳孔子学院。
