ACCOUNTING CLASSES Accounting Specialist I, II Accounting Technician I, II, III, IV, V NOTES: 1. Advanced level Acct. Tech. experience is Acct. Tech. IV and V (experience at the Acct. Tech. III level will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis) 2. AT I, II – AAS in accounting fully qualifies 3. AT – one year of bookkeeping/accounting experience can trade for the required course in bookkeeping/accounting ACCOUNTING CLASSES TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Accounting Specialist I Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework; or a two-year degree in accounting from a business school or community college and two years of accounting or auditing experience; or graduation from high school and six years of experience as an accounting technician, three of which must have been at the advanced level. Computer Operator Graduation from high school and one year of computer operations experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Computer Support Technician I Graduation from high school and three years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. (specific knowledge of the particular software or systems supported may be required.) Computer Support Technician II Graduation from high school and four years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. (specific knowledge of the particular software or systems supported may be required.) Work-against: Computer Support Technician I Computer Systems Administrator I Graduation from high school and two years of experience in the administration of a computer system similar to the one to be supported; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
