The Learning Centre Think Tank
What is the Learning Centre Think Tank?
It is an opportunity for school personnel to meet with the Learning Centre Team and Friends to
seek input and guidance. Participants will leave the Think Tank with an action plan of ideas to
support students.
Possible reasons for attending include:
- getting help (e.g., to recognize and identify a problem)
- interpreting existing assessment
- looking for new differentiation approaches
- seeking a fresh approach to student learning concerns
- finding ways to get over hurdles (accommodation suggestions)
- looking for multi-disciplinary perspective
What happens at Think Tank?
Think Tank is a multi disciplinary collegial problem solving and brainstorming process.
Classroom teachers participate in directing the discussion and determining ideas they would
like to use in redirecting student learning in more successful patterns. They leave with a
summary of instructional ideas, a sense of proven resources and a follow up partner.
Who should attend Think Tank?
Classroom Teachers and any combination of available and appropriate staff partners, which
can include SERT’s, Rotary/Teacher partners, Educational Assistants and Administration
Team partners. (1 half-day release coverage per school is available for access)
