Explore Japanese Culture
Children ages eight and up are invited to experience
Japanese history, crafts and culture during
“Japanese Origami & Tales” at Abington Free Library
Thursday, November 10
6:45 to 8 p.m.
The program leader will present two stories
featuring Japanese young people who responded with
courage and hope to the WWII atomic bombings.
Participants will make origami paper cranes and enjoy
Japanese-style refreshments; each child should
bring his or her own mug or teacup.

Earned Income Tax Update
Act 32 of 2008 amended the Local Tax Enabling Act to
provide for county-wide collection of the Earned Income
Tax (EIT).
The Montgomery County Tax Collection Committee has
retained Berkheimer Tax Administrators to serve as the
tax collector of all of Montgomery County.
The tax rate and all filing dates will remain the same;
however, there are changes in the employer withholding
requirements under Act 32. Please visit the Berkheimer

filing for individuals and employers offered by
Berkheimer.
Abington Art Center Sculpture Park
Abington Art Center’s Sculpture Park comes alive
in the summer. Over 20 outdoor sculptures can be
found on the lawn and in the woodlands which are
easily accessible thanks to the Heart Smart Trail,

Road Work Notice
Mill Road will be closed and detoured between
Coates Road and Moredon Road in Abington
Township for 11 months starting Tuesday, March
15 to replace the structurally deficient stone arch
bridge over a branch of Meadow Brook. The

is a group of seniors in the area who get together
for programs, activities, and day tours designed with
