he American Hellenic Tour Operators
Association was founded in 1981 to
foster greater awareness of Greece as a
travel and tourism destination. This
non-profit organization's members
consist of the United States’ leading
providers of travel to Greece and account for approxi-
mately 80 percent of American travelers to Greece.
Their services span the full gamut of travel products,
from corporate meetings and incentives to cruise and
tour packages, FITs, groups, special interest programs,
yacht and airline charters. Members include:
Amphitrion Holidays, Apollo Tours, Cloud Tours,
Crown Peters, FreeGate Tourism, Homeric Tours,
Mediterranean Dest., Neotours, Olympia Tours,
Ulysses Tours, and Valef Yachts.
AHTOA is governed by an Executive Committee
which is elected annually from its general membership.
Sub-committees include membership, and ethics.
Besides promoting integrity in tourism to Greece,
the association remains faithful to its initial
objectives which are promoting quality service to
Americans visiting Greece; ensuring that the traveling
public and retail travel agents receive correct and
timely information on Greece as a travel destination;
maintaining the highest ethical business standards for
all of its members; working in the spirit of true cooper-
ation with suppliers of travel services; and cooperating
to the fullest extent with Greek and American govern-
mental agencies and authorities to further tourism to
Greece.
