Exceptional Children's Department Full Time (100%) - Eleven (11) Months

Hold a valid NC Teacher’s License, with Certification in an Exceptional Children's Education area. A minimum of 3 years
experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Classroom experience with children
with disabilities and Direct Instruction programs/methodologies is strongly preferred.
This is a lead teacher position. Oversee implementation of research based instructional methodologies in special
education classrooms (20-70 schools - Elementary, Middle, and High) as well as provide direct coaching and modeling
for teachers of Direct Instruction programs. The instructional coach will complete fidelity observations in EC classrooms
and will conduct regular program and foundational trainings. The coach will participate in ongoing development,
delivery, and evaluation of staff training in the areas of reading and/or math and will oversee inventory and distribution
of materials for EC instructional programs. The coach will also maintain data on student outcomes, teacher
effectiveness, teacher training, and overall program effectiveness. The coach will act as a recruiter, trainer, supporter
and promoter of research-based instructional programs/methodologies.

THIS POSITION IS FOR 2 - 3 HOURS PER WEEK and is temporary through June 2014 with no benefits. Variety of work
tasks including bookkeeping; administrative level secretarial or office assistant functions in the central office or auxiliary
area; or handling a specialized function in department such as accounting, purchasing, personnel, transportation,
maintenance, or other administrative area. Work is differentiated from the II level because of the decisions made in
performing the variety of tasks, the knowledge and skills required, and independence of action and judgment exercised
in the work. Work requires a broader understanding of the entire school system, with more detailed knowledge of the
functions, policies, processes, and procedures of the unit and work activities.

Transportation Department Full Time (100%) - Twelve (12) Months

Graduation from high school and two years of experience in an automated office or systems environment; or graduation
from a technical school with computer operations course work and one year of experience in an automated systems
environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications: Bi-lingual
English/Spanish fluency and prior experience in transportation dispatch preferred.
Serves as the designated transportation office liaison to the transportation information management system which
houses a variety of transportation records, activities and information. Work in this class involves keeping and
maintaining a variety of technical applications and programs based on the transportation information or records. Work
requires computer literacy and the ability to follow instructions given for the operation of the computer hardware and
software to effectively transmit and compile the required data and information. Also handles incoming calls to the
Transportation Department from parents, bus drives and school staff.
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I - State Garage HR Contact: Pam Hensdale
Transportation Department Full Time (100%) - Twelve (12) Months

Graduation from high school supplemented by related trade school course work and one year experience in repairing
automotive, construction and specialized equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability
to use computer-based software. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license. Ability to obtain a Class A CDL
license with an "S" and "P" endorsement, and a satisfactory driving record.
Serves as a skilled mechanic in the fleet maintenance garages. Performs basic mechanical duties as assigned by the
Fleet Supervisor. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment. Performs tune-
ups, tire mounts, dismounts, and balancing, brake work, and other basic mechanical duties under the direct supervision
of properly trained mechanics. Work involves inspecting, servicing, and repairing chassis units including gas and diesel
systems. The work requires operation of various test equipment and hand tools in order to support the work activities.
Employees receive assignments and instructions from his/her supervisor and work is evaluated by observation and the
operational efficiency of equipment maintained and repaired.
Food Services Supervisor II HR Contact: Pam Hensdale
Walkertown High School Full Time (100%) - Ten (10) Months
Closing Date: Tuesday, October 11, 2011 Pay Grade 62 ($2,351 to $3,169 monthly)
Graduation from high school and four years food service experience, including at least one year as a Supervisor Trainee
in a child nutrition department. Considerable knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to plan,
organize, monitor, and evaluate a food service operation. Ability to maintain and compile necessary records and
reports. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and staff.
Ability to interpret and monitor a variety of federal, state, and local food service guidelines. Ability to communicate
effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and guidelines.
Supervises school cafeteria staff in a high school. Work includes hiring and training staff, assigning duties and tasks,
monitoring work, ordering food and supplies, and completing the necessary records and reports on each food service
activity. An employee sometimes participates in the cooking, preparation, or serving duties. Work involves organizing
and planning skills including planning a variety of serving lines, such as hot foods line, sandwich line and pizza line, and
a knowledge of dietary requirements and the rules and regulations of the school system in the food services area. Work
is supervised by a Food Services Manager I.
