Bodog Europe, the world’s leading online
gambling platform, appointed Area Sq to design
and fit out Bodog’s new London offices.
Their relocation, from serviced offices to a 3,000
sq ft office at Hills Place, W1, was indicative of
their plans to expand and create a high-quality
environment. The successful completion of this
new office led to a second 8,700 sq ft project at
Argyll Street, W1.
Bodog Europe’s brief was to create offices
with a masculine feel to complement the bold
architecture of the buildings. The design had
to create an environment which did not have a
strong corporate feel or was too heavily branded
but striking enough to impress clients and
journalists alike.
Area Sq Design Director, Amanda Godwin-Jones,
answered the brief by using unusual finishes and
bold colours to create a moody ‘poker lounge’
type feel. Amanda adds, “We minimised the use
of white and instead used smoked glass and
audacious colours of black, grey and red to give
the scheme a strong and stylish feel.”
One challenge that faced both projects was
having a client project manager that was based
in Canada. This demanded that the Area Sq team
worked extremely closely with Bodog Europe,
holding succinct meetings when the client to the
UK.
The finished projects show Bodog Europe’s vision
became reality, providing the company with a
relaxed yet professional work environment that
the staff can be proud of.
