							                                    COMPUTER IMAGE CONFIGURATION CHECKLIST
Check off boxes to verify completion below:

   Applications -
   Wutemp Folder          Reinstall/Replace/Update - faulty applications/links.
                          *If necessary, Please ONLY download to the C:\WUTEMP folder.
                          *No downloaded items should be at the desktop . If directory doesn't exist, make it.

   Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) - Utilize DHCP whenever possible
                         Obtain an IP address automatically
                         Obtain DNS server address automatically
                         *Static IPs will be utilized if workstations are losing their gateways.
                         *When troubleshooting a connection problem make sure you have a LINK light.

   Wireless Network Connection
                       Requirement: Windows XP SP2 : http://10.200.0.12/dsweb/View/Collection-1476
                       Everyone should be on: Winodws XP SP2 with Firewall and Popup Blocker: OFF
                       Mac/Physical Address & information should to be submitted to the Technology Dept.
                       Wireless cards should be disabled in a hardwired atmosphere; exceptions may apply.
                       Wireless configured for Cisco AP (b0bc8t) (initially disabled)

                        *All Windows XP machines are required to have Sophos.
                        *Submit a Tech Request if Sophos fails to install or remove a virus.

                        Verify settings are set to not scan inside archived files, exclude remote drives, and delete
                        upon detection of virus or spyware, (policies will be pushed from console also)


   DeepFreeze           Remove/Reinstall DeepFreeze according to School Grade and Gpedit.msc Configuration.
           Latest found * A DeepFreeze Seed is a seed to be installed at a later date.
       on Folder - CTC * A DeepFreeze Force Seed will freeze your station on the next reboot.

                        properties, including desktop, start menu, and quick launch toolbar icons

VNC
         Version: 3.3.6 Check for an IP address: If not ...reconfigure/reinstall.
                        *When installing: at the "Select Additional Tasks" screen please select:
                        >Register VNC Server as a system service.
                        >Start VNC Server system service.
 ***At the "WinVNC: Current User Properties" screen, please insert our District VNC Password .***

Internet Explorer

                         Remove: MS Messager, Media, and Email icon at the Toolbar

***Internet Toolbars of any kind are not supported nor recommended by the Technology Deptment.***
                         Select check for newer versions of stored pages every visit to the page
                         Verify script debugging is turned off
                         New Tabs open with Home Page
                         Change the temp files from 100MB to 1024MB
                         Change security from Medium-high to Medium

Msconfig               Startup Tab should include:
                       1) WinVNC (VNC)                                4) AutoUpdate Monitor (Sophos)
                       2) NWTRAY (Novell)                             5) *HotSync Manager (PalmONE utility)
                       3) ctfmon (Windows component)

Startup Menu           Clean up the Startup Menu - Remove MSMessenger, MS Office, Remote Assist., etc.


Inventory Computer Click on START, Select RUN, then type in \\10.200.0.27\software\clientcon.exe
                   Enable: File and Printer sharing on Windows 98
                   Easier to execute when you are logged in with Novell , Netbois , IPX , and TCP running.

Miscellaneous Computer Setttings for Images
Set toolbar and menu to Windows Classic
Uncheck personalized menus
Configure Office to always show full menus
Turn off power savers on hard drive and network card
Uncheck run desktop wizard every 60 days
??? Turn on Remote Desktop and add /admin switch
Remove Novell Send Message from Start Menu
Disable simple file sharing
Uncheck automatically search for network printers and folders
Remove nvdia management software if installed - conflicts with projectors
Add Bookmarks to IE and Firefox (Region20, Riverdeep, AR, UnitedStreaming, GradeSpeed, CATS,
 Virtual Office, eSped, Subfinder)

Client Con Inventory must be set to schdule at startup and under advance it must be set to turn off at 5 mins
Configure the wake on lan to be turned on
Uncheck group similar task bar icons
Unchecked hide extensions for known file types.
After Image is done Sophos must be set for imaging
On the template computer, stop the following services (if they are present):
  Sophos Message Router
  Sophos Agent
  Sophos AutoUpdate Service
On the template computer, in turn, open each of the following registry keys (if they are present):
  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sophos\ALC Agent\Private]
  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sophos\Messaging System\Router\Private]
  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sophos\Remote Management System\ManagementAgent\Private]
and, in each key, delete the following two entries
  pkp and pkc
1. Delete the following files from the template computer:
C:\Program Files\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Data\Status\status.xml
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Config\Machine.xml
