project. From functional needs to asthetic requirements, from your market to your competitors.
Please complete this document as coherently as you can, ignoring any questions that aren't
relevant to your project.
As each contact and decision maker for the project may have differing views on the project,
please complete this document together or submit one per person for a more comprehensive
response.
Once you have completed the document, please return to dan@eastley.net along with any
supporting documents that may be relevant or helpful.
1. The Business
What is the name of your business and what does it do?
Please include a list of your USP's and competitive strengths if applicable.
Who are the main contacts and decision makers for this website?
Please include their roles, contact details and who will have the final say.
Is there any other information about your business that would be beneficial?
2. The Project
What is the overall concept of the website you require?
Please include your primary reasons for requiring the work.
What are the most important objectives for the website and how will their success be
measured?
Increased visitors, product awareness and sales conversions for example.
Do you have an existing website and will this be a replacement for it?
If so, please provide the URL and detail any aspects that work well, don't work well, and why you think this is the
case.
Are there any specific time-frames for the build in place already?
Please include start dates, completion dates and any other milestones or key dates such as product launches or
trade shows.
What is your budget for the website?
Please also detail any on-going maintenance budget and marketing or promotion budget you may have allocated.
Do you have any long term plans for the website beyond the initial build?
Additional future phases with new or extended functionality for example.
Who will be responsible for the on-going management, maintenance and updates to the
website?
Will you require domain registration and/or hosting for the website?
If not, please provide details of your current domain registrar and/or hosting provider.
2.1. Content and Functionality
What content do you require on the site?
Please provide an information architecture map or outline the content structure including headings, sub-headings and
content. Feel free to send a separate document if easier.
Do you have any copy-writing requirements?
Will you require a content management system for updating content on the website?
Please detail which parts of the website you require to be content managed and any taxonomy information – if you
are unsure, this can be discussed and decided later.
Apart from the content, what other features do you require for the website?
Contact forms, location maps, videos and social media integration for example.
Do you have any e-commerce or online purchasing requirements?
Do you have the appropriate services in place already such as a payment gateway and merchant account, if so,
please provide details?
Do you have a requirement for a multi-lingual website?
What languages do you require and do you have translated copy or access to a translator.
Do you have any bespoke functional requirements?
Integration with 3rd parties, reservation or booking systems and web services for example.
2.2. Branding and Design
Do you have any existing brand or identity guideline documents, logos or other graphical
elements that will be relevant to your website?
Do you have a library of graphical assets such as photographs, iconography, maps or
graphics that you would like to use on your website?
Please detail any assets you may require sourcing.
If you do not have any brand guidelines, or would like your site to take on a new or
different identity, are there any particular design characteristics or colours you feel
would be appropriate?
Are there any particular websites that you like the look of, don't like the look of, and why
you think this is the case?
They don't necessarily have to be within your target market or related to the service or product you're providing.
Will you have any maintenance or on-going requirements for your website?
Content updates, Analytics, copy-writing and email newsletters for example.

What is your geographic target area for the website?
Local, county, national or global for example.
Who are you prospective customers and target audience for the website?
Please detail if appropriate, their age range, gender, income, extent of use on the internet and computer literacy.
How will your target audience find out about the website?
If applicable, how do you think your target audience perceives your current website and
and how would you like them feel about your new website?

Please also include their website address if known.
What makes your competitors special, what doesn't, and why you think this is the case?
What sets you apart from your competitors and if applicable, what will make them
choose your site over theirs?
