Telling a story through many mediums. Your task is to tell a story based on an issue in the news. Think about
how ‘Boy Overboard’ or ‘Inanimate Alice’ is put together. It is a fictional recount with a twist!

Part One- Researching and defining the issue
Why is it happening?
Why is this in the news?
Why is it important?
How is it affecting people’s lives?
Who benefits? Who doesn’t?
Who is involved?
Where in the world do we see this issue being played out?
Part Two- Telling a story (the creative part)
What situation will you present to illustrate the issue? E.g for environmental issues, examining the plight of fish in
the Great Barrier Reef.
Who is your audience?
What background information does your audience need?
How will you include your research in your story?
Who is being represented in the story? How will they be represented?
What message are you trying to convey?
What is the setting?
How do you want your audience to think and feel?
Is there anything you want the audience to do? E.g. petition, letters to editors, donations etc.
