USAW is pleased to report that a Women’s Committee has been formed to address the specific needs of women in the sport. While there are many women who have made distinct and valuable contributions to the sport, the Women’s Committee is focused on identifying women who can help to educate and mentor in areas in which they have special skills and proven success. Initial committee members are as follows: Dr. Ellyn Robinson, Chair – Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science and Physical Education. Tracy Fober - Science and applications with special expertise in Biomechanics and Dartfish, Physical Therapy, and Exercise Physiology. Kerri Goodrich – Business expertise, specializing in start up and running of non-profit organizations Natalie Burgener, Athlete Rep – 2008 Olympic Team Member. Ursula Garza Papandrea – Athlete, USAW Senior International Coach, specializing in linking coaches to mentors. Megan Tornstrom-DeFourney - Technical aspects of sport, including meet organizing and refereeing. Suggestions for additional members, particularly with backgrounds in nutrition and sports psychology, should be forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org The committee will meet on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Peoria at the Conference Room 1 on the main floor of the Holiday Inn from 9 – 10 pm. Tracy Fober will give a presentation on Dartfish and its applications and Kerri Goodrich will do a presentation on starting and running a non-profit. The meeting is open to everyone and both men and women are invited to attend. Annual Athletes' Meeting to be held at the National Championships in Peoria: USAW has experienced significant changes since our last meeting in Chicago, it is important that our athletes are kept abreast of these issues in order to better serve them.
