CURRENT RESEARCH Testing the Effects of Training on Children’s Understanding of Density University of Cincinnati Supervisor: Heidi Kloos, PhD Research Goal: The current study plans to examine the effects of training on children’s concept of density. Previous research has shown that young children have a poor understanding of the concept of density. It is believed that by adding a training element to a previous study, results will show that children’s understanding of the concept of density will improve. University of Cincinnati Professor: Catherine Strathern, Ed.D. Responsibilities: Assisted Professor with redesigning the structure of the class. Created and revised PowerPoint presentations, and helped develop new course syllabus. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE In-Home ABA Tutor October, 2007- October 2009 Community Supports, Inc Supervisor: Melissa Jones Responsibilities: Implemented a program that included advanced ABA methodology and behavior modification techniques for a 21 yr old man with autism. Assisted in transitioning him from his main form of communication (sign language) to a Go Talk speaking device. Also assisted him with re-introduction to the outside environment after 10 years of being strictly indoors, and participated in transitioning him to begin working in a local workshop.
