“As Hall of Fame player Nancy Lieberman says, Candace is Design a basketball shoe for WNBA rookie of the year
literally ‘changing the game as we know it.’ To keep pace, Candace Parker.
the best female players ‘play like guys.’
Or like Candace Parker.”
-Melissa King, The New York Times
Who is Candace Parker? needs:
They call her Silk. Statuesque, fierce, and incredibly
support and stability
talented, Parker has inarguably changed the world
of women’s basketball. She has dunked her way compatibility with an Active Ankle support
brace
to numerous awards, including an Olympic gold
medal. Being the first female basketball player to midfoot support strap
sign with Adidas, she deserves a basketball shoe fit well with her narrow feet and ankles
that suits needs and aesthetics distinct to women.
cushioning over weight and breathability
The lack of women’s shoes in the market today is
due to the low quality associated with women’s superior fit
performance footwear - current players feel the performance greater than or equal to
need to wear shoes built for men. Just as Candace competitive men’s options
is changing basketball, Adidas has the opportunity unique look with feminine detailing
to change women’s shoes and carve a much
needed niche.

inclusive computer MacBook Jr.
Design an inclusive computer As computers become necessities in the adult world, it becomes
more and more important for children to be comfortable and
capable at a computer. The MacBook Jr. is a portable computer
that grows with a child, teaching them valuable technical skills.

interchangeable parts allow the computer to grow
with the child
built in drawer for storage of accessories
waterproof, kidproof, accident proof design
customizable accessories
make the computer personal and allow the
user to upgrade as the child grows. Accessories
include keyboards (shapes and colors, numbers,
then letters), different sized styli, different power
attachments, a mouse, and headphones
human powered
to help combat childhood obesity and create
a more sustainable computer. Different age
appropriate attachements, like hand crank and
jump rope, teach child benefits of physical
exertion.
cradle to cradle lifecycle
creates an incentive to return the outgrown
computerfor Apple credits. The computers can
then be used for parts or donated to children or
schools in need. Reusable, functional packaging
reduces waste.
connectivity
keeps the MacBook Jr. low cost, allowing a
smaller processor with limited functionality. This
also allows the parent or teacher to program
the computer with specific educational tools,
exercise routines, games, and time limits.
