Junior Engineers for Britain Challenge
The aim of this Young Engineers challenge is to provide primary school children with a practical introduction
to the exciting world of engineering and technology.

Who can enter?
The challenge is open to primary schools or organisations teaching school years 4,
5 and 6 or equivalent (approximately pupils 7 - 11 years old) in the UK. The initial
challenge is normally run for a classroom of approximately 30 pupils and is suitable Postcode:

What happens next?
Once your entry is received you will be contacted by one of our many local organisers I wish to register the following numbers of pupils:

The organiser will run the challenge from Young Engineer supplied K’NEX kits. These Date:

the challenge is delivered within your area your organiser may ask your school for a

Level 1 - School Challenge - The K’NEXplorer
Pupils working in teams of two will complete a fun design and build activity that is
intended to work alongside the curriculum. The challenge is kept relatively simple
to allow pupils of all abilities to successfully complete it. Once completed, one team
is selected as the ‘best’ at solving the problem. This team may progress to the next
level of the challenge.
Level 2 - Area Challenge - The K’NEXtronaut
Teams from schools all over the county/LEA etc are given a new and more
challenging scenario. The pupils must design and build a new K’NEX model solving
a different problem. At the end of the challenge, one team will be selected as the
winner and they may be invited to the next level of competition.
