Help For Our Friends
everal months ago the SPCA got
word that long-time volunteer,
Eileen Blank, had a recurrence
of the cancer that she had beaten
many years before. Although she is
going through chemotherapy and is
unable to walk the shelter dogs that
she spent so much time socializing
and giving affection to, Eileen has
made it her mission to get her
favorite dog, Nell, adopted into a
loving new home.
Nell is a sweet lab/terrier mix
about 4-years-old, very smart and
eager to learn. She has been at the
SPCA since 2001, way too long for
such a wonderful dog! Nell is a
favorite of staff and volunteers due to
her affectionate and playful nature, and knows all of her basic obedience com-
mands (sit, down, stay, heel). Nell would prefer to be the only pet as she’s not
fond of cats and is choosy about the canine company she keeps. This wonderful dog will be a true and loyal companion to
a family with older children or a single person.

with it significant change at the
SPCA of Westchester. We must
inform you that Mimi Einstein, the
SPCA’s President/CEO, has resigned
her position after more than fifteen years
of devoted service to the organization.
Under her guidance the SPCA of
Westchester and the Simpson Spay/
Neuter Clinic have embraced sheltering
and animal care techniques demonstrat-

Her legacy is readily apparent in the
myriad of programs and improvements
that have come to pass since her arrival
at the facility years ago.
The SPCA is fortunate to have a
highly capable staff to assure that our

operate smoothly during the transition
