Welcome to the third annual convention of the National
Institute of Sports [NIS], founded in 1999 to provide a systematic ap-
proach for helping athletes and to build a nationwide association of pro-
fessionals, trained and certified to help athletes at all levels of competition.
We have chosen San Antonio as the site of our third convention as it is the
home of the NIS Board of Directors, the world-famous Spurs, the beautiful
Riverwalk, and it was requested by many of you, our members. This con-
vention brings together an exciting and experienced group of speakers
from all across the country—professionals, trainers, and athletes alike.
They’ll share topics that will enlighten, challenge, and inform while provok-
ing both thought and discussion.
