Salatiga eyes 6 gold medals at SEA Games
The Central Java town of Salatiga is aiming for six gold medals from five local athletes
participating in the upcoming 26th SEA Games in Palembang and Jakarta.
The five athletes will compete in athletics, karate and sepaktakraw.
The secretary of the Salatiga of the Indonesian National Sports Committee, Dance Palit, said
three Salatiga athletes would compete in athletic competitions, including runner Trianingsih
competing in two athletic fields, a karateka and a sepak takraw athlete.
“We are optimistic about getting at least a gold medal in each sport,” Dance said Tuesday as
quoted by kompas.com.
Representatives from the Salatiga administration will be in Palembang and Jakarta to lend
support to their athletes.
