Strong and weak pronunciations for auxiliary verbs
The auxiliary verbs like do, does, have, has, were
and was have strong and weak pronunciations.

Things to remember:
When we ask questions or make statements, we usually
stress the main verb and give the auxiliary verb a weak
pronunciation. When we give short answers to questions,
we usually stress the auxiliary verb and give it a strong
pronunciation.
