Paper Chase Trail Ride

Hosted at Gene Garrod’s Farm in Manchester, PA
This unique ride is open to NEMHC members and their guests (an all breed event). Starting out
in small groups between 9:00AM and 10:30AM you’ll depart and follow a ribbon marked trail
throughout the farmland and wooded area of the Garrod Farm. Ride will be easy/moderate with
slight hills, not many rocky areas and several spots to water the horses. Make plans, rain or
shine, to join us for a fun day of adventure and visiting with friends and co-club members.
Registration will start at 8:00AM in the covered arena where you’ll pick up your registration
packet and start the day with continental breakfast. Riders may depart from 9-10:30 and after
returning back to the start/finish line, lunch will also be complimentary in the arena area.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 riders, of our two divisions (youth & adult), returning
closest to the unknown pre-determined time, but not going over. You’ll also be provided a map
to help you along the way, you may travel at your own pace by walking, gaiting or cantering.
Pre-Registration requested but not required, can register day of event. The target time for the
ride will be determined by the collective average of our NEMHC Board members.

Take Exit 28 Strinestown off I-83 go SOUTH on Route 295 (to avoid detour of Locust Point
Road) travel approx 3 miles to 4way stop. Turn Left onto Canal Road and continue approx 2
miles to Stop sign, make slight Left to stay on Canal Road to 942 Canal Road. Look for
NEMHC signs.
