A WebQuest for 4th Grade
You are now travel agents! To be a
great travel agent you will need to know
as much about Pennsylvania as possible.
Your goal is to show the best parts
about Pennsylvania and convince
people that our state is a great to
place to plan a fun a vacation.
When trying to find the best parts of
the state, and its most enjoyable
activities, think about what you like to
do on vacations. GOOD LUCK!
Your task is to research
information about the state of
Pennsylvania. Using the
information needed for a fantastic
vacation, you are going to make a
travel brochure, with information
and pictures, that tells others
interesting facts about the state of
Pennsylvania.
• Research 4 specific topics about
Pennsylvania.
• The 4 research topics will be:
– Attractions/places to visit
– Important historical facts
– Interesting facts about Pennsylvania
– Landforms/bodies of water and weather
• Use graphic organizer to collect data.

Step 1
When researching the attractions/places to visit,
you must find at least 10 visitor sites. Some
examples of visitors sites are museums, theme
parks and national parks.
Step 2
Research the important historical facts. You
must find at least 10 historical facts that you
think are important. You may include important
people in Pennsylvania history, important
historical events and any other historical facts
you find interesting and informative.
Step 3
Research interesting facts about Pennsylvania.
You must find at least 10 facts. An example of
this could be "Did you know that...". Your job is
to simply find facts that many people do not
know about Pennsylvania.
Step 4
Research landforms/bodies of water and
weather will find information about any
mountain ranges, and lakes or rivers. This person
will also research the weather in Pennsylvania.
Be sure to find the weather for each season.
Step 5
You will use the web sites listed to
find the required information to
which you've been assigned. They are
all very interesting and informative.
Step 6
As you gather the information please
use the following graphic organizer
worksheet to organize your research.
Step 7
After all of the information is organized,
begin to create a travel brochure. The
brochure will contain all of the information
which you have collected and recorded.
Step 8
You will make the brochure by using
Microsoft Publisher Brochure.
