1865 2 overutres more to AR's liking and an SQ. NR/Jurgenson founded Moscow cons and asked br for prof of Harmony.
1866 Failed to attend graduation concert as fed up with SQ. Ov in F well received. Started 1st sym.
1867 AR and Zaremba disapproved of 1st sym but AR played middle movements. Started Voyevoda opera.
1868 NR conducted Sym ded to him and dances from Voyevoda very successfully. Met Desirre Artot
1869 engaged to Desiree Artot but she married another singer. Prem of Voyevoda but only 4 further perf. Fate ded to Balakirev perf
in M. Undine
1870 R&J perf w/o success. Mandragora abandoned, Undine failed. To Paris to see Shilovsky worked on Opritchnik and SQ1
1871 Concert to raise funds but no orch so perf SQ1 - folksong from Kamenka. Moved to own flat.
1872 Started Sym 2 also w Ukraine folksongs.
1873 Sym 2 in Moscow. Music critic (to 1876). Tempest performed.
1874 SQ2 success. Revised Oprit so could be performed. Success. Unhappy so to Italy. Started Vakula for competition. Also PC1.
1875 Depressed and contemplated death. Wrote Sym3 but finale disappointing. Commission for Swan Lake
1876 Started Francesca in Paris. Saw Ring in Bayreuth. Met Liszt. Vakula prod in St P. Start of correspondence with Mme von

Europe but decided too tiring.
1890 Prem of SB at Mariinsky w Petipa choreo - success. To Florence to start Qof S based on Pushkin. Back in Rus wrote Sde F fro
NvM ded to StP Chamb Mus Soc who prem in Nov. In Tiflis sketched Voyevoda. NvM ill and short of money and broke off
letters. Prem of Qof S Dec great succes in front of Tsar
1891 Decided to visit USA via Paris where saw celeste. D of sister nearly turned round. Huge welcome in NY, Niagara, Balt, Phil,
Wash. Back in Rs commisison for 1 act opera & Nutcracker which disliked & sketchde in 2 weeks.Cond prem of Voyevoda
but destroyed score telling Siloti to do so to parts.
1892 Due to cond Voyevoda but as destroyed arranged suite form Nutcracker instead. Moved again. Prem of Ioalantasame day as
Nutcracker Dec. Started new sym but disliked and changed to 1 mvt PC3 - And and Fin discovered later and orch by Tan.
Tour of Europe and celebrated in Paris w honours. Idea for sym on way to Paris.
1893 Return to Rus in Spri & comp Sym6. May to Cambridge for doctorate. Cond FdeR. Cond prem Sym6 in Oct but not
enthusiastic. Early Nov ill and d 6 Nov 2 weeks later Napravnik gave 2nd perf of Sym6 and huge success.
