We are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing seniors, children,

their families, and all community area residents, with a secure place to access social

and spiritual networks, resources, programs and activities. We strive to create a safe

and trusting environment for all residents.

NEW FALL AND WINTER HOURS OF OPERATION



Drop-in anytime Monday – Thursday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Emergency Food Pick-up Monday – Thursday from !:00 pm to 3:00 pm









OUR EVENING PROGRAMS ARE UP AND RUNNING!



If you are looking for things to do in the evening, please consider our yoga,

computer, or music classes. Bingo is a great stress reliever for both you and

your children. It’s free and you have a chance to win some nice prizes. Please

see the attached schedule.







DID YOU KNOW…



 We provide children and adult clothing, toys and some household items for

families in need. Pick up time is the last Wednesday of the month from 1:00 to

3:00 pm.

 We are an agency for the Winnipeg Harvest. If you are an area resident in

need of this service or you know someone who is, please call the Winnipeg

Harvest at 982-3660 to register. We also provide emergency food to those in

need from Monday to Thursday from 1:00pm to 5:00 pm.

 Hot lunch is served at the center Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 1

pm – 3 pm.

A Very Big Thank-you!





 A very big thank you to all those who helped out during July and August. We

were able to keep the Center open for emergency food distribution.

 Heartfelt thanks to all those who have made donations to our center. Your

kindness is greatly appreciated.

 Thanks so much to all those who have volunteered at the Bingo fundraisers.

 Much thanks also to Manitoba Community Services Council Inc.







Welcome to our New Volunteers

Cindy Wycislik and Herta Dallmann are our newest cheerful volunteers who help out with

serving lunch as well as other duties.

Joe Fabian is always willing to lend a caring hand with housekeeping duties.

Frank Schoen has been a very great help in assisting with Harvest food pickups.

Robert Brown has been very helpful with unloading the Harvest food pickups.









We are always looking for volunteers. If you have some time to spare,

please consider helping out at the Center. We are in need another driver

with a van or truck. We will pay mileage. We also need people to serve

hot lunches during the afternoon. If you are interested, please give us a

call. 586-1203

Happy Thanksgiving!



Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all of the many ways that God provides for us. Lets give

Him thanks and praise for all that He has done here at the Center. May the grace of God

touch each and every family’s lives.



Turkey lunch will be served from October 7-9 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.





FUNDRAISING EVENTS

We will be holding a Fall Dinner Fundraiser at 7:00 pm on November 22, 2008 at Casa dos

Acores, 55 Higgins Avenue. Please call the Center for tickets. This event will include

entertainment provided by local dancers and singers, a silent auction, and a dance.

Janelle Curtis of Seven Oaks Seniors’ Links presented E.R.I.K. (Emergency Response

Information Kit) on September 10. E.R.I.K is an ideal program for seniors, chronically ill and

those who live alone or who have difficulty communicating. This kit ensures that vital

information is readily available in an emergency situation. Kits are available by calling Janelle

at 612-3888.









Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner will be served at the Center, 1350 Main

St. on Dec. 13, 2008 at 6:00 pm.







Christmas Holiday Hours

The Center will be closed from Dec. 13 -Jan. 5, 2009

Regular Harvest Food Bank will be on Dec. 23, 2008

We will resume regular hours on Jan. 6, 2009
