Happy New Year
A Great Big Thank-you
On behalf of myself, all the staff and the Management Committee, I would like
thank all of for 2010! You bore with us and supported us through an extremely
difficult time of moving around Camden to ensure our nursery was even more
wonderful!
I would also like to thank –you all for supporting in us in all our fundraising
initiatives over the past few months to help us towards purchasing the fencing
for the roof garden so that we can use it. In November and December alone, we
managed to raise £1000. We will be continuing with these initiatives
throughout 2011, but still aim to get the fencing done this month or next.
A special thank-you to Claire Ricketts for the Bring and Buy table, this fab
idea, raised£200 of the £100. The table is still up and running, so please do
see what is there, and bring in any unwanted Christmas gifts.
Staffing
As you know we lost both Khalida and Jessica last month, Jessica moved back to
Ireland, and Khalida is looking at a change of role after working with us for
over 5 years.
We have busy trying to recruit the correct people to replace them and believe
that we have already found one great candidate. Melody, will be joining the
Sunshine Room in February. Melody is has lots of experience working with the
early years in school settings and is really looking forward to joining our
nursery team next month.
We are still in the process of trying to recruit a second person to join the
Rainbow Room. We will let you know as soon as are have found the right person.

Hellos and Goodbyes
Welcome to Hugh, Finn who are joining the Rainbow Room this month, and also
to Thanawaso who is starting in the Sunshine Room.
FREE SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR THE NURSERY
We have registered with ‘Haven Fun and Fitness’ to receive free sports
equipment for the nursery. To help us to get this, we need 70% of our
parents to show their support by logging on to www.havenfunfitness.com
Please log on and enter Camden into the town box and support Auden
Place Nursery. If we get 100% of our parents to support us then we get
a bonus item! N.B. BOTH PARENTS CAN SUPPORT US!
Dates for your diary
I have attached 2 separate documents to this email with
dates for various things, but here are the closest.
Tuesday 8th February - Management Committee
Meeting. Crèche and refreshments are provided as
always.
Friday 28th January - Next staff meeting. Nursery opens at 9.00am.
Friday 28th January – 9.00am – Parents coffee morning (see below for more
information)
Stay and Play Sessions
Don’t forget that we offer ‘Stay and Play’ sessions EVERY WEEK from 8.00am –
9.30am. These are on Thursdays in the Rainbow Room and Fridays in the
Sunshine Room. If you are not able to do these days, then just speak to your
key-person about staying on a day that works for you.
Festivals/Events for January/February
Monday 24th January – RSPB Big and Little Schools’ Birdwatch 2011 – We
will be taking some of the children to the zoo to see the bird aviary.
Monday 31st January – The start of National Storytelling Week – Why
not come in and read your child’s favourite story to the rest of the children.

Wednesday 3rd February – Chinese New Year of the Rabbit – We will be
taking some of the children to China Town to see the celebrations and
sample some Dim Sum.
Monday 14th February – Valentine’s Day – Time to think of loved one and
we will also being doing lots of activities to promote healthy hearts.
FRIDAY 25TH FEBRUARY – NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY – We will be
asking you to dress your child in something red and donate £2 towards
the fencing of the roof garden.
Auden Place Coffee Mornings
Following on from our last parent evening, it was agreed that we would hold
monthly parent coffee mornings. Please see list of dates attached and a couple
of topics that we can discuss. The coffee mornings will be from 9am – 11am in
the Star Room, and they are always on different days so that we can
accommodate all of you. Please let me know of any topics you would like to
discuss. We will be asking for £1.00 donation to cover the cost of the
refreshments and staff cover to release a member of staff to co-ordinate the
meeting.
