       Chapter 10 Section 1
Quebec and Ontario are two Provinces in
Canada that border each other…yet the
people from these two places speak
           different languages.

Imagine that in Maryland they spoke a
     different language than people in
                  Delaware,
What would be some positive and negative
           affects of this situation?
               Summary

In the past as well as today, people from
all over the world have immigrated to
  Canada.
The 13 provinces and territories of
Canada are united in a single
  federation.
However, each province and territory
has its own history, culture, and
  concerns.
            Section 1: Ontario and
            Quebec: Bridging Two
                   Cultures
The two most populous provinces in
  Canada, Ontario and Quebec, have
  very different cultural heritages.
The dominant culture of Quebec is
French. Ontario, especially its city of
Toronto, contains a great diversity of
  international cultures.
The struggle of some people in Quebec
to become a separate nation has been
and still is a source of conflict within
  Canada.
