quadratus lumborum
Origin: from the iliolumbar ligament and the iliac
crest. Insertion at the last rib and the lumbar
vertebrae.
Action: flexion of the vertebral column and
depression of the thoracic rib cage.
Nerves: 12th thoracic and 1st - 4th lumbar
nerves.
Blood Supply: lumbar arteries and lumbar
branch of iliolumbar artery.
