A summary of the December 8, 2004 Board of Education meeting is as follows:

PUBLIC HEARING ON THE TAX LEVIES:
The board held a public hearing on the 2004 tax levy at 7 p.m. The superintendent overviewed the levy
information. The board president called for comments on the levies. Hearing none, the public hearing was
closed at 7:07 p.m.

ACTION ITEMS:
   1. Minutes, financial matters, and bills payable were approved.

   2.   The board adopted resolutions for:
                                                Band Students
                    Ted Anton and Jessica Dillard - Under the encouragement of Dave Blyth
        Selected from 1,200 musicians for the Illinois Music Educators District 1 Fall Festival Band and
        considered to be in the top 100 band students in southern Cook County.

                          Stephanie Keeler – Under the encouragement of Dave Blyth
        Selected from 1,200 musicians for the Illinois Music Educators District 1 Fall Festival Band and
        considered to be the best band student in southern Cook County.

        Girls’ Team - Finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record and took 1st Place in the South
        Suburban Junior High School Conference and placed 2nd in the Conference Tournament.

        Boys’ Team – Finished the regular season with a 6-1 record for a three-way tie for 1st Place in the
        South Suburban Junior High School Conference and 1 st Place in the Conference Tournament.

   3.   Personnel - all items were approved as follows:
            I.   Resignation(s) – Barb Dziedzic – lunch supervisor
            II.  Hires – The board deferred action until after closed session
            III. Acknowledgement(s) - none

   4.   The board adopted the 2004 tax levies.

    5.   The board approved the low bid from Dimensional Enterprises, with the deletion of three projects from
         the scope of the life safety work, for a total project cost of $402,538.

    6.   The board approved meeting dates and the board calendar for 2005.

    7.   The board accepted the FY04 audit.

INFORMATION ITEMS:
   1. The board reviewed the historical data and trend analysis for the Terra Nova Reports.

    2.   The board authorized the superintendent to move forward on the preparation of bid documents for
         transportation.

    3.   Minutes of the November 4th District Advisory Meeting were included in the board packet.

    4.   The district received one FOIA for November.

    5.   The board signed a holiday greeting to staff.

    6.   Good News Reports from the three buildings were included in the board packet, along with the
         Discipline, Attendance, and Grade Reports from the JH.

    7.   The board went into closed session.

    8.   The board took action on hires as follows:
            • Linda Kincaid – special education coordinator
            • Loretta Serpico – lunch supervisor

    9.   The superintendent summarized the January agenda items.
