1. Reminders
RHC reminded those applicants who have received their Funding Commitment Letter to
submit the Form 467. The Form 467 will generate the HCP Support Schedule which will
alert the service provider to begin crediting the applicant’s account.
RHC also issued a reminder to service providers who have received an HCP Support
Schedule that credits should be issued to the HCP’s account. As soon as credits are
issued, RHC should be invoiced.
2. Application Processing
RHC has nearly completed processing all Funding Year 2009 applications. If you have
not received any correspondence regarding your FY09 application, please contact us at
1.800.229.5476 or at rhc-admin@usac.org. RHC will begin processing FY10
applications next month.
RHC would like your feedback on the processing of your applications. If you have any
suggestions, comments or concerns, send us an e-mail.
3. FCC NPRM Updates
The comment period for the FCC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to expand
and modify the Rural Health Care (RHC) Program closed on September 8th, but both
HCPs and Service Providers are urged to post reply comments before the September 23,
2010 deadline. The public notice and filing instructions are available on RHC’s website.
Comments can be searched using the Electronic Comment Filing System (type "02-60"
into "Proceeding Number").
4. Upcoming Training
The “Service Provider: Understanding Your Role in the Rural Health Care Program”
webinar that was presented in August was over capacity and was re-presented on
September 15, 2010 at 3 p.m. EDT. A recording of the presentation and a copy of the
PowerPoint are available on “Training Events” page of the RHC’s website.
A live training will be held for Rural Health Care program applicants on October 19-20
in Salt Lake City, UT. The first day will be for Pilot Program participants and the second
will be for new applicants to the RHC Primary program. The Primary program training
will be for those who have been in the program for less than two years. This training is
also a good opportunity for those who are transitioning the responsibility of filing RHC
forms to another individual or for those who have had the responsibility transitioned over
to them. Topics that will be covered in the training include determining eligibility,
understanding and submitting required forms and supporting documentation, how to
ensure compliance with competitive bidding rules, important deadlines, the role of the
service provider, and other information to help new applicants through the application
process,
The deadline for making reservations at the conference hotel, Hilton Salt Lake City
Center at the special group rate is October 4th. Reservations can be made online or by
calling 1-800-HILTONS and using the group code RHC.
