Executive Summary

This is my executive summary. To create it, I’ve read through the report after it was finished and picked

out the most important information from each part. Then I created a brief paragraph for each and

Accomplishments against Major Objectives [Goals]



In setting objectives for the year, we align them with the firm’s strategies and goals. Our objectives in

2010 were to:

Improve the ability of lawyers to use print and Provide our clients support by lawyers who are

electronic resources considered experts in their area of practice

What follows is a list of the department’s objectives with an update or brief report on goals:



Objective 1: Improve the ability of lawyers to use print and electronic resources



At the beginning of 2010, we set several goals to assist us in meeting this objective. The following are

the accomplishments that came out of these goals: [start with action verbs for each goal]



 Provided mandatory training for summer associates and fall associates to enable them to

understand how to use both print and electronic resources appropriately as they conduct their

research. The training focused on when to use each format followed by examples from senior

associates that demonstrated the techniques. As a result, we had 131 more questions from

associates than last year on what print resource to use for particular questions.

 Created a research wiki for the associates use in sharing research questions/answers. ….

 Assigned a research librarian to each new associate to act as a research mentor, provide

additional one on one training…
