Single-phase watthour meters of CMAx type are induction meters meant for electric energy
measuring on single-phase 2 wire or 3 wire networks.
Single-phase watthour meters comply with the technical requirements provided by EN 60521,
CEI IEC 62053-11 standards. The meters has been granted EEC-Pattern Approval Certificate
by NMI the Netherlands.                                                                            • active energy

The meter is manufactured of high quality materials with the implementation of advanced
technologies. A good anti-corrosive protection is ensured to the whole product.
Case
The base is manufactured of steel plate or bakelite. Allows the meter fastening on the panel in
three points.
The cover is manufactured of aluminium plate, glass, polycarbonate or bakelite. The meter
tightening is provided by a ring made of rubber located between the meter cover and the
meter base.
The rotor consists of a high purity aluminium disc die-casted with aluminum alloy on a
stainless steel shaft. The disc has a mark, which helps to count the revolutions of the disc for
testing or calibration purposes. The meter can be provided with reversal - preventing device.
Bearings
The upper bearing is of rotor guiding shaft type. The shaft is manufactured of stainless steel.
The lower bearing is of double sapphire type or with magnetic suspension, ensuring a long
operating life.
The terminal block is manufactured of bakelite. The terminals enable the connection of
cables having diameters up to 5 mm (45 A), and 8 mm (100 A).
The terminal cover is manufactured of steel plate, polycarbonate or bakelite. It shall be
assembled on the terminal block by means of two sealing screws. The wiring diagram is
provided inside the cover.
The frame is made of AlSi alloy by die casting of high mechanical strength and long time
dimensional stability.
The driving element is of tangential type, two electromagnets being fixed to die-cast frame.
The voltage coil is covered by a PVC shrinkable plastic tube. The current coil is of synthetic
resin insulated wire on a plastic body, high insulation against the current core being thus
ensured.
 The braking element is made up of a permanent magnet with one magnetic part,
 manufactured of an AlNiCo alloy which ensures high stability to the magnetic field for a long
 time. The magnet is provided with a device for compensating errors due to ambient                IDENTIFICATION MODE:
 temperature variations. The braking element is provided with pins for the meter adjustment at
 rated load. The braking element can also be provided with only two magnetic parts.             CMA x x x x

 The register is provided with aluminium or plastic drums mounted on an aluminium frame.
 The figures are easily readable, being white on a black field. The register options are either               register type:
 normal or unidirectional.                                                                                 B1 bidirectional (normal); plastic drums
 The adjustment devices are easily accessible from the meter front. They do not present                    B2 bidirectional (normal); metal drums
 alterations during handling and transportation. The adjustment ranges fall within the limits              U1 unidirectional; plastic drums
