ArtsPower’s production of
Madeline and the Bad Hat
saturday, Apr 16 at 2 p.m.
$12/$8 McLean district residents
AGeS 4+. This original musical, based
on the much-loved book, captures the
blithe yet touching spirit of the Madeline
series. It traces the adventures of a
young Parisian girl who—despite
starting off on the wrong foot with a mischievous new neighbor—
eventually learns that first impressions aren’t everything.
A Pushcart Players Production
Peter and the Wolf
saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m.
$12/$8 McLean district residents
AGeS 5+. This is an adaptation of the traditional
Russian folktale set to music by Sergei Prokofiev.
While providing a charming introduction to the
world of music and musical instruments, this
enchanting tale is all about the adventure of growing up. Danger
becomes reality and creative innovation becomes essential as
young Peter meets the challenge of survival in the outside world.
Rocknoceros
sunday, May 22 at 3 p.m.
$12/$8 McLean district residents
AGeS 4+. Rocknoceros is able to cover a dizzying range of musical styles
in each set. From Tin Pan Alley to the shores of Jamaica, Rocknoceros
hops from genre to genre like a toad on summer asphalt.
Theatreworks USA production of
Click, Clack, Moo
sunday, June 5 at 3 p.m.
$12/$8 McLean district residents
AGeS 4+. “Cows that type? Hens on strike!
Whoever heard of such a thing?!” Farmer Brown cries. When
his granddaughter Jenny comes to visit, Farmer Brown declares
the farm a “tech-free zone.” This hilariously “mooooo-ving” new
musical is about negotiation and compromise, based on the
Caldecott Honor Book by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.
