Since 1930, these census counts are for April 1.
Current Population Survey Estimates
Estimates of the United States population are derived by updating the resident population enumerated in Census

Estimates are made as of July 1 of the year.

Notes:
While hominids have been around for several million years, Homo sapiens didn't appear till about 50,000 BC.
8000BC represents the start of modern agriculture.
In this time frame, life expectance is estimated to have been about 10 years (very high infant mortality).
