Cover Letter
Thank you for taking the time to look over my resume. I am interested in a full time, contract or consultant position as a
Lotus Notes and Domino Administrator and/or Developer in the San Francisco, Peninsula or East Bay Area.
Professionally, I have over eleven years’ experience with Notes and Domino Administration, six years experience with Notes
and Domino Development. I have been in the information technology field for over thirteen years, and have worked with
many platforms and a wide range of technologies. I have well-developed project and resource management skills, and am
able to deal with projects and their requirements at a high level. I have strong written and verbal communication skills, and
produce excellent documentation. I work well as part of a team, and provide great support.
In my most recent position, I was responsible for high-level administration and project management in a world-wide Domino-
based infrastructure, including SMTP and NRPC mail routing, anti-virus, monitoring, IM, application and web server clusters. I
implemented Postini perimeter SMTP and spam services, and consolidated services into a datacenter. All production
modifications were activated through standard Enterprise Change Management processes, with any scheduled downtime being
visible to the business units, and end-user support backed by Service Level Agreements.
I am looking to continue implementing Lotus Notes and Domino solutions that address existing business problems, using IBM
and Lotus technologies as the core of an ongoing strategy to define, automate and evolve business processes.
I have a strong personal interest in IBM and Lotus technologies (Notes and Domino in particular) as well as with technology in
general and am self-motivated to stay abreast of this rapidly evolving field. I am a Principal CLP Domino R5 System
Administrator, and am working on ND8 certification. I manage my own ND7 web based infrastructure hosted from my fully
equipped, dedicated home office via broadband.
Salary, hours and travel are negotiable. I am eager to undertake new challenges, and am able to start with reasonable notice.
If you would like more information about me, you can check out my Domino-based web site at http://DanDroppa.com, or
just give me a call. Again, thank you for your consideration.
