17 LEAST EIGHT HOURS OF PRE-LICENSING EDUCATION
18 COURSES WITHIN THE LAST FIVE YEARS, IS NOT
19 REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ADDITIONAL PRE-LICENSING
20 COURSES WHEN HE MOVES HIS DEALERSHIP TO
21 ANOTHER LOCATION.

23 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
24 Carolina:

26 SECTION 1. Section 56-15-410 of the 1976 Code, as added by
27 Act 9 of 2005, is amended to read:

29 “Section 56-15-410. (A) An applicant for an initial
30 nonfranchise automobile dealer license must complete successfully
31 at least eight hours of pre-licensing education courses before he
32 may be issued a license. At least one shareholder listed on the
33 application for an initial nonfranchise automobile dealer license
34 must comply with the education requirement contained in this
35 section.
36 (B) A dealer who has operated a dealership for at least five
37 years, or who has completed successfully at least eight hours of
38 pre-licensing education courses within the last five years, is not
39 required to complete additional pre-licensing courses when he
40 moves his dealership to another location.”

1 SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
