September Each school establishes its own Scientific Review Committee (SRC) and
Institutional Review Board (IRB) to evaluate projects. See ISEF rulebook for
how to establish these committees
October 29th Deadline for sending names of local SRC and IRB to the Central Oklahoma
Regional Science and Engineering Fair Committee. A SRC/IRB form link has
been established from our web address: http://cms.uco.edu/ScienceFair/
January Please make every effort to hold your Local and District Science Fairs no later
than the middle of January. If this is not possible, please contact Dr. Elizabeth
Allan, Director, Central Oklahoma Regional Science and Engineering Fair (405)

January 28th Deadline for Science Fair Projects and all forms for review by the Central
Oklahoma Regional Science and Engineering Fair. SRC: If at all possible, please
send your student participant’s paperwork earlier. Please send copies of the
student’s application with other necessary forms and keep the original. If a
student qualifies for the State Science & Engineering Fair or the
International Science & Engineering, the Fair Director will need to sign the
original. Please make sure that students either type or print on the forms so
that they will legible. This will allow time for you to respond to comments,
questions, concerns, etc. from the Central Oklahoma Regional Science and
Engineering Fair SRC.
Paperwork received after January 28th may result in project disqualification
if all guidelines are not correctly met.
February 9th The Central Oklahoma Regional Science and Engineering Science Review
Committee (SRC) and/or Institutional Review Board (IRB) will meet to review
EVERY APPLICATION to make sure they are completed correctly and that rules
have been followed.
February 14th Student applications which need corrections will be returned to the teachers for
distribution to students to make changes. All changes will be brought with the
students the day of the fair.
February 22nd Central Oklahoma Regional Science & Engineering Fair
The schedule for the day of the fair is:
8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Set up in the Nigh University Center Ballroom (3rd floor)
9:00 to 12 a.m. Sixth Grade Judging
7-12th graders will be taken on tours and have activities in
the College of Mathematics and Science
12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Lunch
Sixth Grade Judging will be completed and students will be
1:00 to 4 p.m. 7th – 12th Grade Judging
Parents and teachers please park in the UCO Visitor Parking Lot east of the
Nigh University Center. There is a small charge for parking.
February 23th Names of WINNERS will be posted on the Internet after 1:00 p.m. Key in the
following URL: http://science.uco.edu/sf/2007winners.php
February 24th Awards Ceremony at Constitution Hall in the University Center, University of
Central Oklahoma at 6:00pm. Parents and teachers please park in the UCO
Visitor Parking Lot east of the Nigh University Center. There is a small charge
March Oklahoma State Science Fair in Ada, Oklahoma.
