Science is a very important subject to teach in schools. Science explains the world
around us and helps us understand why things happen when they happen. Learning this is
important for children in elementary school because it opens their minds. Science creates that
sense of wonder that fills children with questions that must be answered.
Science should be taught in today’s classroom because children naturally have wonder in
their minds. Students have questions about everything and science gives them means to answer
those questions. Giving them means to answer questions is important because they will someday
need to find answers for themselves. Students will start to use scientific methods to discover
their surrounding more in depth. Science should also be taught to children because it is a fun
way to look at the world and showing children that learning can be done in a fun way is always a
plus.
Teachers should use the fun of science to aid learning in other areas such as math and
history. Science can be related to nearly every topic and when used correctly can add great
interests to those topics as well. When teaching science it is best to allow students to
experiment. Letting the children really get into the depth of what it is helps science last and
helps the students’ minds to grow. Students should be allowed to explore science looking at the
world around them. They need to learn to work for themselves making predictions and than
discovering outcomes. When students learn any form of science fun experiments need to be
involved and each should be allowed to partake in the experiment or do it on a smaller scale on
their own.
Science is a fun subject for elementary students to learn. This subject needs to stay
engaging. Students should remember learning science by experiments done. Allowing children
to have freedom of not only physical but also the mind helps give science lessons a memorable
and fun learning edge.
