The data below was used to create the three funnel plot graphs showing centres' multiple pregnancy, elective single embryo

treatments carried out in January to December 2009

This data was extracted from the HFEA’s data warehouse containing Register data as at 23/06/2010. At this time the HFEA ha

which centres were asked to confirm the accuracy of information on treatment cycles carried out up to and including 30/06/2

and outcome information used in this analysis has therefore not been confirmed by centres and may be subject to change as

corrects information they have previously supplied.

Please note that the data is aggreagated for all ages. Therefore it is not meaningful to directly compare centres' eSET and ove

age and medical history of the patients each individual centre treats.

Please note that the data is aggregated for patients of all ages. The proportion of eSET cycles that a centre needs to carry out

pregnancy target will also be affected by the age and medical history of the patients they treat. For example younger patients

embryos, will typically have better chances of getting pregnant and therefore be more at risk of conceiving a multiple pregna

more younger patients would need to carry out more eSET cycles to lower their multiple pregnancy rate.

Please note that the following pregnancy data is aggregated for patients of all ages. Therefore it is not meaningful to directly

data between clinics, as this will be affected by the age and medical history of the patients that the centre treats. For exampl

higher proportion of older patients will typically have a lower overall pregnancy rate than a centre that treats more younger

centres carry out relatively few treatment cycles, and therefore their pregnancy data may give a less reliable indication of tha

than a centre that carries out a large number of treatment cycles.
