Segment 1: Patient #15 (ET) is shown at 15 minute intervals after receiving 1.5 gm of
sodium oxybate in the office. Improvement in action tremor during pouring is evident at 45
minutes and obvious at 60 minutes.
Segment 2: Patients #17 (ET) and #15 (ET) are shown before treatment and after treatment.
Improvement in kinetic tremor during tasks is evident.
Segment 3: Myoclonus at rest is present in patients #3 (MD) and #11 (PHM) before
treatment and disappears with treatment.
Segment 4: Stimulus-sensitive myoclonus to sound and pinprick is present in patient #4
(PME) before treatment. After treatment, only stimulus-sensitive myoclonus of the right hand
remains.
Segment 5: Action myoclonus on finger-to-nose and negative myoclonic postural lapses is
severe before treatment in patient #6 (PHM). While still present after treatment, action
myoclonus is significantly improved, and standing unassisted is now possible.
Segment 6: One measure of functional performance, using a soupspoon, improves with
treatment in patients #9 (PHM) and #5 (PME).
