About Japan culture festival art exhibition

Japan Culture Festival

Through this event, we believe that we can give guests a diverse range of experiences in Japanese

culture, opportunities to meet other people who love the same things and explore their interest in

Japan. In 2010, the first year of this festival, 1600 attendance enjoyed this cultural experience and

exchange.

The concept of Japan Culture Festival

It is “Culture Day” (Bunka no hi) on November 3rd in Japan. There are many Japanese people living

in Melbourne who have great skills but do not have many places to present their abilities. On the

other hand there are many Australian people who love Japan and Japanese Culture. These people do

not have many opportunities to experience both traditional and modern Japanese culture.

All performers, artists and workshop teachers are volunteers and happy to contribute their skills.

This event will not only help people understand and experience Japan’s beautiful culture but also

make a stronger bridge between Australian and Japanese people in Melbourne.

In the Japan Culture Festival Art Exhibition, students at Japaneasy are encouraged to express

themselves and exhibit their art work in public. Students are required to make a new work which

adheres to the art exhibition theme.

The Theme of Art

The people of Japan are standing at the precipice to create a NEW JAPAN with a strong resilience.

Any person, any organization, any country and even the world has a moment to start saying “Let’s

Try” with perseverance.

What do you, or did you think of that moment? When will you or did you start? What is your dream

or hope for your future? What has begun in the natural world or the human world? Please express

that moment in a snapshot picture or a movie.

Key words are “Beginning”, “Perseverance”, “Moment in time”
