When you are first starting out it is best to try before you buy. At WASSA training sessions and the WASSA Beginner’s Camp
there will be opportunities to view the different types of equipment mushers use, as well as take them for a test run. Make the
most of these opportunities, and ask lots of questions, as it may well save you money in the long run.
If you like something, make sure you ask the owner where they got it from. They should be able to point you in the right
direction. Some mushers may have second hand items for sale, so if you are after something let people know. There are also
a number of internet groups that you can join; often ‘for sale’ items are posted there. (e.g. WAMUSHERS, OZWORKINGDOG,
FACEBOOK)
Below is a quick reference guide to some companies members use for their equipment.
