Place display icons on the flow line
To import an image onto an icon you
must first drag a display icon from the
toolbar to the flowline.
Then you must name it by typing over
the word Untitled. It is recommended
to name it after the image or action it
will perform. For this tutorial, call it
ISD layout.

Import images onto the icons
There are two ways to import images
onto an icon, from a library or a file.
For the purpose of this tutorial, you will
learn how to import images from a file.
You should now have a display icon on
the flowline named ISD layout.
Double click on the icon to open it in
presentation window. You will see a
toolbox open in the top right hand side.
You’ll learn more about it later.
On the next page you will locate and
import an image onto the icon.

Import images onto the icons
• Select insert then image. This will open
the Properties:Image Dialog Box. Click on
the Import button.
• Locate and open the ISD images file
folder stored previously Find & select
the image called layout
• Select link to file. Be careful not to
double click on image. Must click “link to
File” first.
• Click on import > ok to get out of the
properties dialog box. You should
now see the layout appear on the
presentation window as displayed in
the example on the left.
• Note: You might have to center it on
the screen. To do so, simply click
and drag it. Close the presentation
window

Import images onto the icons
Repeat similar steps to import the 10
ISD model stage pieces.
• Drag a display icon onto the flowline
• Name it the 1st model piece goals.
• Double click on icon
• Select Insert > image
• Select link to file
• Locate and insert goals. You will be
importing each image onto a blank slide at
first.
• Move the image to the top right hand
corner.
• Close the presentation window

To import the remaining 9 ISD model
pieces, repeat the previous steps locating
and naming them in the following order.
Place them as shown in the illustration on
the left.

Run your piece
Before moving onto the next unit you
should do three things: run your
piece, group and save your
objects.
• You run your piece to make sure
everything looks as you want it.
To run your piece select the
Control menu then restart. You
should see the window shown on
the left.
• At this time you can move an
object by double clicking on it.
You can now drag it to a new
location as needed.

Group icons & save piece
• Close the presentation window.
• Group your objects by performing a
marquee select around the objects.
• Click and drag around all the
objects. A dashed moving line will
appear around the objects. See
figure 1.
• When you let go of the mouse, the
icons should all appear dark.
• Select Modify from the menu bar
then group. The icons will appear

Group icons & save piece
• Name the group ISD images. See
figure 2.
• Grouping makes it simpler to work
with more icons on the flowline.
• Lastly select File then Save to save
your work.
