Research, Study and Methods
In order to make a good Flash game, we had watched loads of videos about some
money games like ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’, ‘Deal or No Deal’, and many other
pieces of information. In addition, we found many references about making Flash
games and our website. We also found teachers to teach us when we have problems.
The previous knowledge in CL lessons does help us as well.
We have designed a questionnaire to get more information on interests in
English for different ages. And after certain consideration, our group decided to host
our research at the questionnaire website www.my3q.com. We had divided the
research into three parts, namely:
- Personal information
- Self Evaluation, and
- Comments on the Flash game.
We have to know the interests in English for every single group of people. This
will enable us to set better questions for the Flash game. Also we want to know what
people are commonly more confident in and afraid of. That will let us set more
suitable questions for people to learn English.
On 3rd May, the questionnaire was released online and invitation e-mails had been
sent. On the next morning, we distributed a paper questionnaire which slightly differs
from that of the online version (derived from it).
The questions are set by Kevin Lui (our group leader) and the questions are
mainly about the respondent’s confidence, willingness in using English and the urgency
of improvement of the English language, a second language to most of the
respondents.
Please refer to the ’Conclusion from Study’ part for the research results and the
‘Appendix’ section for the charts and questionnaires.
