Genetix Online Game Plan.

Team Name: Geeks Infinity

Project Name: Genetix Online

General Overview

Genetix Online is a turn-base MMORPG to shatter all modern conceptions of free

online games. With its seamless blend on strategy, strength, and story, Genetix provides

players of all styles with challenges and rewards tailored to their style of play. Near

limitless pets, an original creation system, and a deep story with hundreds of side-quests

to add to the experience- Genetix provides for continuous never ending game play.

Combine this with the potential for an incredibly active community and a strong,

balanced economy, and Genetix Online holds the potential to be one of the most popular

new online MMORPG's, and may even make a run at redefining the paradigm of free

online games.

Class System

The class system in Genetix is divided between the two main focuses of the game:

Battle and Research. This class system allows the player to adopt a class that is perfectly

suited for them, from a perfect balance of the two, to the extreme ends of the spectrum, or

places in between. Beyond the basic class system the player can also receive

specializations in certain areas. Once the class is picked there will be specific species in

that class that you may adopt. These specialties cross classes and allow the player to

tailor the game even more to their style of play.

Battle System

The battle system in Genetix is a turn-based battle system that involves both the

player and their pets. At the beginning of the game the pets are the primary means of

attack, with the player acting mainly as a means of support. As the player progresses in

the game, however, players will learn to attack with their characters themselves, further

adding to the strategy involved in the game. Should you launch an all out attack, hoping

that the enemy will fall to your assault? Or should you prepare for an extended battle, and

use buffs and healing techniques while your pets attack? It's all up to you to decide.

Storage System

Each player in the game carries with them a pack, which has several tags for item

storage, sample storage, missions (through some sort of cell phone-like device), etc... The

player has the option to upgrade pack size throughout the game by leveling up and/or

purchasing new packs. The benefits of the new pack vary and include increased sample

or item storage or lighter weight to more benefits that may be developed later. Item

storage is based on a grid system in which items have a set size that takes up space on the

“item grid.” Storing items then becomes similar to a game of Tetris, with the most

efficient packing leaving no extra space on the lower levels. Although this could possibly

require players to spend time repacking items it provides a more realistic system of

storage compared with some other games.

Lab Research System

The lab research system consists mostly of menus graphics rather than actual in-

game movement. The lab basically acts as a players home, base, and a small bank all

rolled into one. Here the player can store items; as well as use the DNA samples they

purchase or collect for research. There will also be rare items that will sell for a lot on the

mmo bank. The basic components of the research system are Pet Creation, which is

broken down further to DNA Combination and Incubation; Species Research, which

allows a player to receive further benefits of a particular species by studying samples of

that species' DNA; and the Database. At the lab the player also houses the pets that the

player does not actively have with them. Players can upgrade their labs as they gain

experience and pay money to have it upgraded. Players can also choose to pool resources

of their labs, allowing joint of resources. The players setting up the union will be able to

set up the details such as what is being pooled, how experience is to be shared, etc... For

now it is recommended (required) that Joint Research be limited to 1 player at a time. In

the future we will update and possibly move up to 5 players at a time.

Database

The Database is essentially the supercomputer found in a players lab. It keeps

records of DNA samples, pets created, missions, and other essential game data. A

Player's database can be upgraded to keep more detailed information, such as specific

DNA structures to be recreated, the species required to create a particular hybrid, etc...

The Database is also the only player source for long range communication (Off-island

missions and preferably cross-server player communication). Players can later upgrade to

have information forwarded from their Database to their mobile units, allowing them to

remotely access data and communicate from anywhere.

Journal Quest System

The quest system in the game consists of the player relating their experience

through a journal. The choices a player makes in a side quest may have an eventual affect

on their story experience. As players hear about possible side quests a note will be made

in their journal. For some quests there will be a limited amount of time for the player to

make the next step in a side quest. This time may be stated or unstated. It may also

depend on actual play time or on real time. It all depends on the quest.

Skill and Rank System

The skill and rank system will be made up of atleast 80 lv. Ups. (The player itself)Will be

able to reach lv.65 And for the pet will be able to reach up to lv. 80. There will be special

names for every single one of these ranks. That will be added at a later date.
