Me
o I’m Melinda McClain, President of Summit Solutions and we are a ‘for profit’ company and we provide call
center services. I am going to tell you about my passion and why you should invest in my company Summit
Solutions and not only partner with me to succeed financially but also socially as you invest in others. My
background includes 8 years with Microsoft, 25 years overall in high tech which included building and
managing call centers, deploying them as project manager as well as selling state of the art call center
infrastructure. I also managed one of Microsoft’s first call centers, supporting Windows 95 Operating System
and Flight Simulator.
The Business
o Every Fortune 1000 company and even the Global 5000 companies use some type of call center services.
Whether it is handling technical support cases, solving customer support issues or making outbound telesales
or marketing calls, it is a viable and thriving part of the business world today and a revenue ge nerating
market where you will see return on your investment. For example, Microsoft handles over 4 million calls a
day of which many are billed at approximately $ 50.00 a call or rather per incident. They outsource to well
over 180 call centers to process the load of requests. That’s just one F500 company not to mention HP, Dell,
Apple, IBM and so forth.
We are the best
o We plan to employ Veterans. Summit Solutions will utilize and build upon the leadership skills they have
already learned being soldiers. They have already been given the best training. They are meticulous in their
work ethic, they are on time, they persevere, have endurance, are flexible yet they are groomed for
leadership as well and they are inspired to rise above difficulties and aim to succeed. We will also polish their
technical skills on top of that and have a vibrant workforce. We will use the latest web based, cloud hosted
software infrastructure which includes Microsoft Office 365, web based call center software and VOIP call
handling which lends to a very low cost overhead per agent. I also have already met with Senator Patty
Murray’s office as well as Microsoft who are proponents of providing jobs for our veterans and are
supporting me in this endeavor.
My heart
o I am proud to say I am the Daughter of One of the Chosin Few, the Chosin Frozen who fought in the Korean
War. So, I especially have great respect and gratitude for our Veterans because they have given up their time
and their lives for our country. Early last year I watched a news documentary and interview of a wounded
soldier who lost his legs in the Iraq War and was perfectly able to work but could not find a job. In his
interview, trying to hold back tears, he went on to explain how the government does not have a strong
program to re-employ our VETS once they transition into civilian life. Yet, he was willing and ready to go back
to work and provide for his family. That started a seed of opportunity to draw upon a well trained work force
ready to continue giving their all. Our Veterans give their lives yet it’s an injustice that they come back to the
US after duty, with little means of income.
Why you should invest
o Why should you invest in my company, Summit Solutions? Financially, with just a 50 person technical
support contact center, in 1 year, I estimate revenue of $6.6 million after sales of $9.1 million less salaries $
2.5 million. How do I know we can make this money? I have had experience balancing staff, call volume,
physical space and overhead expenses. I know how to do that. Your funding will help us start up before the
end of the year. Our profit will allow us to sustain our centers and we have a business model to grow and
replicate them in additional cities where our VETS reside. Not only will you see a return on your financial
investment, but you will help solve a social injustice by helping us provide jobs for our honored VETERANS.
