OPTIONS OF STUDY:



There are two options available for students who wish to pursue the BA in Strength & Conditioning:

 Option 1: Non-Accelerated Learning:

o Study one module at a time

 Option 2: Accelerated Learning:

o Study two modules at a time

o This is approved on an individual basis by Setanta College on fulfilling the requirements:

 Submissions for assignments on-time

 Attendance at workshops

 No extensions sought for assignments or similar

o One Module must be completed initially

SETANTA COLLEGE – Course delivery system



WORKSHOPS

 Module will last for 3 months (12 weeks)

 There will be a minimum of 2 workshop days in each module. Weight Training module will

have 4 days of workshops

 Workshops start with registration at 09.00 and lectures or workshops start at 09.30

 Workshops normally conclude between 3.30 and 4.30

 Workshops are held in Thurles Co. Tipperary and in Trinity Comprehensive College,

Ballymun in Dublin.

 It is hoped to stream some workshops online so that students may attend from the home by

logging on at any time over a 4 day period. This will be confirmed at a future date.

FEES

 Each module will cost €540.

 There are four options available for payments:

o Option 1: Deposit & Installments:

 €340 deposit

 €200 at workshop

o Option 2: Up-Front Per Module:

 €510 per module

o Option 3: Up-Front for 3 Modules:

 €1495 in total

o Option 4: Direct Debit:

 €180 per month per module





Please note that there will be no further cash payment option at workshops from September 2010.

Payments must be made via the online shop at www.setantacollege.com or via cheque to be posted in

advance of the workshop to 35 Belmont Lawn, Blackrock, Co. Dublin





ASSESSMENT

 Assessment is continuous over the course of each module.

 There is no final exam.

 All the tasks of the assessment is completed at home with the exception of the workshop

attendance and participation.

 The assessment is made up of

a. 5 Multiple Choice Questionnaire based on the lecture content 15 marks

b. 5 Logbook Tasks based on viewing video clips and answering quiz 15 marks

c. one 2/3 page written assignment midway through the module 20 marks

d. Attendance and participation at workshops 20 marks

e. One written essay called a Module project – 3 to 4 pages long. 30 marks

 To pass a module a coach must achieve 40%

 With 50% one achieves pass with Merit Grade 2

 With 60% one achieves pass with Merit Grade 1

 With 70% one achieves pass with Distinction.

 Option 2 - Enrolling and paying by post

c. Download an Application Form (College Courses & Downloads) or Request a form

from the College, complete and post back to the College – Setanta College, 35,

Belmont Lawn, Blackrock. Co. Dublin.

d. Pay by sending a cheque, postal order or bank draft with the application form.
