      What will my Community
        placement involve?

Your Community placement should give you
the opportunity to do everything a GP
        does; but with supervision.
What kind of Community placements are
              available?
• GP practices in a variety of locations;
  including rural and urban localities
• Community Psychiatry
• Community Paediatrics
Our GP practices are located in a variety of locations
within the North West; such as…

How will I get to my Community
                    placement?
  • If your placement falls outside a 10 mile
radius of Manchester city centre, where
    possible we will provide accommodation.

How can I get to my Community
              placement?
Some of our best placements may not be easy to get
to, especially on public transport. In some cases, you
may have to travel for approximately 1 hour to reach
your placement. We suggest that you can use this time
                      for studying.

It should be worth it when you get there!
          Travel Bursaries
• If your Community placement meets
certain criteria, you will be entitled to a
  travel bursary.
• Please refer to the Community section
  of Medlea for further details.
 Choosing your Community placement
• You will be directed to ‘catalogue’ of all the
  available Community placements.
• The catalogue will be posted on your base
  hospital intranet.
