Human anatomy and physiology is a course designed to introduce the make up of the
human body and explain how these different parts are able to function as one. The
students will have the opportunity to understand in detail how their body works and at
times why it falters. They will learn a variety of concepts ranging in difficulty. This
will enhance their ability to make the right choices thus paving the way for a healthier life
and lifestyle.

Grade scale: A+ = 97 - 100 %, A = 93 - 96 %, A- = 90 - 92 %
B+ = 87 - 89 %, B = 83 - 86 %, B- = 80 - 82 %
C+ = 77 - 79 %, C = 73 - 76 %, C- = 70 - 72 %
D+ = 67 - 69 %, D = 63 - 66 %, D- = 60 - 62 %
F = 59 – 0 %
Students grades are based on the following…
Final/ Quarter (semester) Exam - 10 %

Projects/ lab work - 20 %
Assignments (home and class) - 25 %
Participation - 20 %
Classroom participation is based on any or all of the following:
Volunteering/ Assigned roles or extra tasks in class
Being prepared before and during class
Focus, paying attention, and participating in classroom discussions
Strictly abiding by the classroom rules and regulations thus paving the way for a
conducive environment for learning
Class/ Homework Assignment Policy:
Class assignments are given on a regular basis. It’s usually assigned at the end of each
lesson. Students will be given enough time to complete assignments in class. If for any
reason assignments were not completed based on the time given, the student will be able
to take home the assignment(s) and turned in the next day. All assignments submitted
after the due date will receive 50 % deduction in points (penalty will be assessed from the
actual assignment grade). Assignments will be given back as soon as they are recorded.
A list of turned in and missing assignments will be located at the last few pages of each
student’s anatomy and physiology notebook.
Project/ Lab Work Policy:
Students are expected to observe all precautionary safety rules and regulations set forth
by the teacher/ school during laboratory work or individual/group projects. Any
student(s) found to have violated any rules pertaining to safety will be given an automatic
zero for that laboratory work or project. If a student continuously violates any of the
safety rules and regulations, he/she will no longer be allowed to conduct laboratory work
and projects thus resulting to a total lost of 20 % of his/ her final semester grade.
***All upcoming minor and major projects will be announced ahead of time. If a
student is required to bring in materials from home, he/she will be given at least 2 days of
notice prior to the due date.
Exam/Test Policy
All exams and tests will be announced at least 2 days ahead. A pre-test will be
conducted prior to the actual test except for exams. Any student(s) who receives a
perfect score on a pre-test will not be required to take the actual test, instead that will be
counted as his/ her actual test score. If for any reason tests dates are moved, prior notice
will be given. Please be aware that these tests and exams are constructed by the teacher
based on the daily lectures and activities. Thus, it is very important that students listen
carefully in class. Students who were absent during the test will need to ask the teacher
for a make up test. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that he/she takes the make
up test as soon as possible. The teacher will not be held liable for any tests not taken.
