HF 2437 effective
July 1, 2010
House File 2437 was effective on July 1, 2010. Section
4i was been changed to remove the recitation, “title
abstracts to property with private sewage disposal
systems shall include documentation of the

Therefore, as of July 1, 2010, Iowa Title Company no
longer show Ground Water Hazard (GWH) statements
on instruments executed after July 1, 2010. However,
since this was NOT retroactive, we will continue to show
the GWH statements on anything filed July 1, 2009
through June 30, 2010. If you have any questions
regarding this or other title standards practices, please
let us know. Iowa Title Company follows the Iowa Land
Title Association “Blue Book” Abstracting Standards, as
well as the Iowa State and Linn County Bar Association
