THREE-ON-THREE BASKETBALL RULES AND REGULATIONS
The tournament will be played on a half court, using standard OSSA high school
rules with the following exceptions:
1. Up to four (4) men/women per team (this number includes 1 substitute).
Each team must consist of at least three (3) players.
2. No age restriction. Double elimination style brackets. Two games
guaranteed.
3. Each game has a 10-minute time limit, with one 30-second time out per
team. If at the end of regulation (10 minutes) the game is tied, a jump ball
will start sudden death overtime. First team to score wins.
4. Baskets outside the red "3 point line" will count as two (2) points. Baskets
within the red 3-point line will count as one (1) point.
5. Ball must be brought out beyond possession line (red three point line) on
every change of possession, regardless of whether the ball hits the rim on
a shot. Both feet must clear the line.
6. Substitutes will be allowed during dead ball situations. The official will
administer the ball during dead ball situations at the top of the key or
behind the three-point line.
7. Substitutes cannot enter the court until the player leaving the floor is
completely over the out-of-bounds line.
8. Dual possessions (jump ball) will be determined by the alternating
possession.
9. FOULS...Each team is allowed six (6) team fouls. After the sixth team foul
(the team’s 7th foul), one (1) point will be awarded for each subsequent
foul. These are all fouls, i.e., shooting, offensive or defensive fouls.
10. Fouls and time will be tracked by the scorekeeper.
11. Violations will be called (three seconds, out-of-bounds, etc.). The ball will
change possession on violations.
13. All judgments of the officials will be final. No protest allowed.
14. No game will start with less than three (3) team members. Team
members must show participant numbers to scorekeeper. Forfeiture of
game will result five minutes after the court becomes available for play of
the next game scheduled. This will be determined by the court official.
15. You may only play for one (1) team during the tournament.
16. Appropriate basketball playing attire is required.
17. Athletic shoes are required and must have non-marking soles.
18. Basketballs will be supplied by the University Health Club. Playing with
outside basketballs is allowed if both teams agree to its use.
19. Food, drinks, and gum are strictly forbidden on the basketball court.
20. Each team members must follow the rules and regulations of the facility
and sign a release of liability.

LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE/ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I hereby affirm that I am in
proper physical condition to participate in any and all 2011 University Health Club 3 on 3 Basketball
Tournaments. In consideration of my participation in the tournament, I hereby agree to fully assume any
and all risk of personal injury and property damage that may arise from my participation and attendance
at the event. I further agree to waive any and all claims for myself and my heirs for personal injury and
property damage, of any kind or character, whatsoever, against the Board of Regents of the University of
Oklahoma, its employees, officers, directors and all sponsors and their agents, servants and employees, as
well as all other event location owners and organizations, all participating companies and organizations
and volunteers, hereinafter, collectively referred to as the (“Releasees”), and hereby release the Releasees
from all liability for any such claims of injury or illness which may directly or indirectly arise from, or
occur as a result of my participating in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
INDEMNITY: In further consideration of acceptance of this entry to participate in and attend the
basketball tournament, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from and against any
and all claims of third parties, including, but not limited to, fellow employees and members of the public,
for personal injury and/or property damage which may result from or be caused by the undersigned’s
intentional, deliberate or negligent conduct while engaging in and/or attending the basketball tournament.
This indemnity shall survive my participation in and attendance at the basketball tournament.
PERMISSION TO USE NAME AND PHOTO: I understand that while participating in the 3 on 3
basketball tournament I may be photographed by the Releasees or their agents. I hereby grant my
permission to the Releasees the exclusive and free right to tape, broadcast, telecast, video, sell,
photograph, record, or use in any other electronic or mechanical reproduction in connection with the 3 on
3 basketball tournament, my name or my likeness alone or with other persons, together with alterations or
edited versions of the foregoing.
CANCELLATION AND START TIME: I understand that the 3 on 3 basketball tournament may be
canceled in the sole judgment and discretion of the sponsors. Conditions viewed as unsafe include, but are
not limited to rain, snow, sleet, hail, lightening, tornado conditions, heat, civil disturbances, strikes or any
other circumstances.
I further agree that the starting time of the event may be changed at the sole discretion of the Releasees.
By signing this form, I acknowledge that I have read this basketball tournament Release Form in its
entirety. I fully understand if I am signing as the parent or legal guardian of a minor participant. I accept
these terms and agree to this release on behalf of and in the interest of the minor, and agree with its
contents, and fully accept all of its terms, conditions, and provisions.
