UPPER SIXTH UNIFORM
The concept for uniform in the Upper Sixth, is that of smart ‘office apparel’ – so the following
regulations apply:-
Suits: Must be matching in fabric and colour, top and bottom
Trouser hems must not fall below the shoe and trail on the ground
Trousers should be tailored ie not appearing to be skin tight
Skirt length for girls, must be between knee and ankle length
Denim may not be worn
Belts should be co-ordinated and discreet – students may not wear wide belts across
their hips
Jumpers: May be round or V-neck – and in a co-ordinating colour with the outfit worn
Shirts: Must have a collar – and tone in with the outfit worn
Shirts must be long enough to ensure that the stomach is not shown and be a
comfortable fit. Girls' blouses must button up above the cleavage. Co-ordinating plain
vests may be worn under the blouse.
Boys must wear ties at all times
Shoes: Shoes must be plain (no patterns), in dark and co-ordinating colours
No boots – including ankle boots
No trainers, canvas shoes or embroidered/beaded slippers.
Shoes with stiletto heels are not to be worn – the heel on girls’ shoes must be
maximum height 7 cm and the base of the heel must be approximately 2 cm squared.
Coats: Raincoats/overcoats in a single dark colour may be worn around the College - except
in Chapel
In addition: Girls may wear their own choice of jewellery, as long as it is discreet and co-ordinated
with the outfit worn. Make-up should be subtle, and the school rules regarding visible
body piercings still apply.
Hair should be brushed and tidy at all times and boys' hair should not fall below the
collar. Boys are expected to be clean shaven.
If you have any concerns with regards to what is, and what is not acceptable, please consult
your Housemaster/mistress before any purchases are made.
